Whangarei Art Museum, as part of the Matariki New Year celebrations, is honoured to present two significant concurrent exhibitions…

Te Hue Ipu
Tracing the history of Gourds as vessel and artwork; as taonga and contemporary practice, including the research of Theo Schoon and works loaned by the Auckland Art Gallery Toi O Tamaki, Whangarei Museum and Heritage Park, Northland Society of Arts and collector Ron Sang, as well as contemporary works.
To compliment the Te Hue exhibition the Whangarei Art Museum presents:
The Living Face 1904 - 2004
One hundred years of Maori taonga and treasure from the Whangarei Art Museum Collection featuring C. F. Goldie, Maori Women, Harata Rewiri Tarapata, 1904 – Reuben Paterson, 3 glasses of knowledge, 2004.
