Mark Inglis Return to Christchurch
Mark Inglis will be returning to Christchurch sometime during the middle of next week. As yet we cannot provide specific details, at this stage Wednesday is looking most likely.
Mark’s wife, Anne Inglis, said today that Mark and the team have returned to Advanced Base Camp and have been resting before continuing down the mountain. She said that Mark will travel to Base camp by Yak sometime today. They will then fly to Kathmandu from Lhasa and depart for New Zealand on Monday.
Anne said Mark was still finding it very difficult to talk and is in some discomfort due to frostbite.
“He has frostbite in five fingers and his stumps have taken a bit of a pounding so he can’t walk too well at present. Our focus now is to get Mark home and warm him up a little.
“We hope that as many supporters as possible can be at the airport to meet Mark and welcome him home when he arrives. He has so many well-wishers, supportive sponsors and friends, it would be great to give them the opportunity to be at the airport to meet him when he gets off the plane.”
Anne flies out to Kathmandu today to meet Mark, courtesy of donated flights from Thai Airways.
