Niki Caro gets intimate with Wellington actors
Internationally acclaimed New Zealand filmmaker, Niki Caro talks with NZ Actors’ Equity at next week’s Cameo @ Paramount about creating fine performance.
The initiative Cameo @ Paramount began as a collaboration between the actor’s union and Paramount to encourage, inform and inspire particularly Wellington performers along with other creative professionals by interviewing leading New Zealand actors, directors and casting directors.
Niki Caro, the writer/director of the beloved Whale Rider and director of North Country jumped at the chance to talk about acting, building relationships with actors and what’s up next. “I love talking about performance and how to create it. I really just want it (the interview) to be an intimate discussion with actors, about acting.” says Ms Caro.
The interview is at Paramount Friday, 12th May at 6pm and will be followed by an audience question and answer session and then drinks in the bar. Tickets are available at Paramount at $20 for full price and $10 concession for Equity and other industry guild members.
