NZ Music Month live at the Library
Come and celebrate NZ Music Month at Auckland City Libraries starting this Wednesday 3 May. Over 50 musical performances
ranging from rap, rock, indie, pop, jazz, to folk and classical will run throughout May at the Central City Library and
various Community Libraries.
The line up for this week includes:
Wednesday 3 May
Sing along to old favourites at the Folk-sing-a-long at Blockhouse Bay Community Library at 11.10am; listen to The
Septembers romantic bedroom anthems and searing indie pop at the Central City Library, Ground Floor at 12.10pm.
Thursday 4 May
Pianist William Green brings a stunning selection of NZ piano music from the 1940s to the Central City Library, Whare
Wananga, 2nd Floor at 12.10pm.
Friday 5 May
Come and hear the jazz sounds the Glendowie College Jazz Band at St Heliers Community Library from 12.30pm - 1.30pm;
enjoy inspiring jazz from the three-piece jazz ensemble John Paul-Muir Jazz Trio at the Central City Library, Ground
Floor at 12.10pm.
Saturday 6 May
The Auckland Mandolinata Orchestra presents a variety of ethnic and classical music at the Central City Library, Whare
Wananga, 2nd Floor at 12.10pm; relax to the beautiful sounds of the Waiheke Island Orchestral Ensemble at the Waiheke
Community Library from 11am – 11.30am; the trio Decortica play a selection of their own original works from noon – 1pm
at Onehunga Community Library.
Customers also have the opportunity to win $500 worth of Marbecks music vouchers by simply borrowing five music items
during May from any Auckland City Library.
