SUB Ride with Sarah Ulmer – Last Call for Entries
Your chance to ride alongside an Olympic and World Champion cyclist Sarah Ulmer at her SUB Ride event for women and children, held at the Clevedon Showgrounds on Sunday 23rd April 2006. Entries close midnight Wednesday 19th April 2006.
This is the third year for the event, with 1800 women and children riding last year – so there won’t be a shortage of friends to ride with.
We’ve introduced a 16km ride for women, and together with our 35km and 65km distances, there’s something for every cyclist. The course rolls through Clevedon’s beautiful country roads, with the longer rides taking in Maraetai’s coastline. Kids’ aged 10 years and above can do an 8km or 16km road loop, with a grass loop for the little kids (5-6 years and 7-9 years).
“I love seeing all types of people out on their bikes – and with SUB Ride we’re trying to inspire women – ALL women, of all sizes and all ages” says Sarah.
“Whether your goal is to keep fit, lose weight or just to have fun and race your friends – taking part in an event is a great motivator to get out and get active. Find your reason why you can and not an excuse why you can’t…!!..” says Sarah.
SUB Ride has a fun atmosphere with loads to do on the day for the whole family.
Entry forms are available now from McDonald’s restaurants and most good bike stores around Auckland and the Central North Island. Women’s Rides are $45 and kids’ rides are $15. Women’s race packs will include a SUB Wear beach towel and kids’ will receive a SUB Ride t-shirt.
Entry forms can also be downloaded from www.sarahulmerbrand.com. The site also features tips from Sarah, including training programmes, safety considerations, nutrition, clothing and an on the day checklist.
Participating children must be five years or older on race day, with a parent/caregiver at start and finish lines, and all cyclists must wear a standards approved helmet and appropriate footwear.
Entries are strictly limited due to course congestion. Please enter early to avoid disappointment, as entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
The event is run in conjunction with McDonald’s, SUB, Fairfax New Zealand and More FM, with the assistance of the New Zealand Police.
