Cadbury Dream Model Search 2006
Search begins for New Zealand’s next modeling star
Ever dreamt of a career on the catwalk? Or gracing the pages of fashion magazines?
The Cadbury Dream Model Search 2006 kicks-off next month, with a nationwide search to find New Zealand’s next modelling star.
Open to young women aged between 14 and 25, the search will visit seven cities throughout New Zealand during May to find the 12 finalists who will compete in the July final.
The overall winner will have their modelling career launched in New Zealand by Nova Models, Talent & Actors, and will be flown to Sydney, all-expenses paid, to meet with top modeling agency Vivien’s Model Management for a test shoot with a top Australian fashion photographer. The prize also includes Cadbury Dream chocolates and flowers, a $1000 Jeans West wardrobe, a $500 Schwarzkopf gift basket, and a $1000 scholarship for future travel with international model placement agency Michael Hooker International.
Competition organiser and Director of Nova Models, Talent & Actors, Caroline Barley, says organisers are looking for gorgeous, confident, sophisticated young women who are contenders for a dream career in modelling.
“Professional modelling today is a viable career full of challenge, international travel and good rewards, and the winner of the Cadbury Dream Model Search really will be provided with some amazing opportunities.
“The search has already given New Zealand some great modelling ambassadors who have gone on to compete in the international market, including last year’s winner Allie Jensen and rising star Grace Hobson who was also discovered through the search.”
So what do you have to look like to impress the judges? Caroline says there is no one look with trends changing from year-to-year and different requirements for each job.
“What we’re looking for is ‘X factor’, that special something, and that can come in so many shapes and forms, from classic, to quirky, to cute, to sultry. Not every model is super tall either. So even if you think you’re too short or not the right shape, come along to an audition and give it a go, you never know.”
Caroline says both she and co-judge Michael Hooker will be at each of the eight regional auditions to meet with hopefuls. “Meeting all the girls and discovering new talent really is great, it’s the part I enjoy the most.”
To enter, girls simply need to fill out an entry form and take it to the nearest audition along with three snapshots of themselves (as specified in the terms and conditions). Entry forms are available from supermarkets wherever Cadbury Dream is sold, in the April and May issues of Cleo magazine, online at www.nova-models.co.nz, and at Jeans West stores nationwide.
Girls living outside of an audition location can fill out the entry form and send it with three photos to: Cadbury Dream Model Search, PO Box 68-118, Newton, Auckland before Friday 26 May 2006.
The 2006 winner will be announced at a final event held on Thursday 6 July in Auckland.
Cadbury Dream Model Search is sponsored by Cadbury Dream, Nova Models, Talent & Actors, The Edge radio station, Jeans West and Schwarzkopf.
