WATCH FMP DOCUMENTARY ON WEB
LOOP Recordings Aot(ear)oa and www.amplifier.co.nz present the online stream of the music documentary for the gold selling album 'The Return of Fly My Pretties'.
The documentary is an insightful look into the behind the scenes events surrounding the eight live album recording sessions and shows at the Paramount Theatre (Wellington) and Hopetoun Alpha (Auckland) during late 2005.
The thoughts of the musicians and production team are revealed as the first shows draw nearer and it dawns on all involved the size of the project they are part of. With the highs and lows come the development of the Fly My Pretties family and support that they lend to one another.
The unique documentary was produced and filmed by Nektar Films who also produced the multimedia element of the shows. Jason Naran directed the documentary and Gareth Moon was the Producer.
Enjoy!

Sandwiches, Wellington
One of the most promising bands of 2005 continues its phenomenal success across Aotearoa. The unmistakable funk-loaded live sets of the Recloose Live Band are already considered a future classic among local musicians and heads. Just back from their full on debut tour around the UK and Europe, covering 15 gigs in less than 3 weeks, including a Saturday night show at Fabric, London, the band will be on fire for their return gig to hometown Wellington!
"Just when you think you've wondered about the death of dance music one too many times, along comes Recloose to restore your faith in the genre."
Real Groove
"The marriage of a very Detroit fascination with futuristic electronic sounds and a very Wellington love of dub and funk gives it a fresh, unique and satisfyingly soulful sound. These songs kick all kinds of arse when they're played live. Brilliant. "

LOOP Music Video Library
A web version is now available so you can watch good old Recloose anytime ya want. His caricature is also bouncing across New Zealand screens on C4, Juice TV and TV3 for Recloose's new music video Mana's Bounce.
'Mana's Bounce' is the brand new second video from Recloose's sophomore album 'Hiatus On The Horizon'. Mana's Bounce is about Recloose's two-and-a-half-year old son Manahi. The video is directed by Wellington's Jeremy Mansford and Preston McNeil. The two directors last year won Radio Active's prestigious 'Handle The Jandle' music video award.
With 812 body parts, 55 characters, 927 photos and nine additional animators and compositors, the video was a labor of love for the two directors. Preston McNeill explains: "The cut-out style of animation required a huge amount of preparation time, especially as we had just over fifty characters in the video. We have to give a big thanks to all the guys who helped smash out animation for us, without whom we'd still be working on it!"
Jeremy Mansford sums up: "We wanted to create a video that had lots going on, with several subplots evolving. The idea being that it could be viewed several times, with the viewer discovering more with each watch".
A special thanks to Huffer for their endorsement of the video. "Mana's Bounce" is taken from the second Recloose album "Hiatus On the Horizon" which is out now on LOOP, distributed through Border Music.

LOOPKast 49
Mikee celebrates his lust for the swashbuckling lifestyle by turning his modest automobile into land based pirate-ship that even has its own crow's nest and fake parrot. His authentic captain's costume leads to misadventure when his one-eye patch reduces his depth perception and he rear ends a school bus.
