“Rock Star” auditions to take place in NZ
The Rock brings you NZ’s one-day-only audition for “Rock Star”
Last year “Rock Star” helped resurrect the career of INXS. Now, producer Mark Burnett wants to create a chart-topping band from scratch and, thanks to The Rock, you could be part of it.
If you think you’ve got what it takes to be a Rock Star, join The Rock on Sunday April 2nd at Galatos in Auckland for your chance to audition to be the lead singer of Supernova, rock’s newest super group.
“Rock Star” has gathered three big names in the rock world; drummer Tommy Lee, guitarist Gilby Clarke and bassist Jason Newsted; to form the band, and they need a lead singer.
“I’ve toured with both Gilby and Jason. They’re incredible musicians and I’ve always wanted to play with them,” says Lee, Motley Crue’s wild-man drummer,
“We’re going to pull out all the stops to find the most charismatic and musically talented lead singer to front Supernova.”
Clarke played with Guns ‘n’ Roses on its albums “The Spaghetti Incident” and “Live Era ‘88-‘91” and was with the band on its epic “Use Your Illusion” tour. Newsted was with Metallica for more than a decade and has also worked with Ozzy Osbourne as well as Motley Crue.
Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke will return as hosts of “Rock Star”. The show will also feature a guest judge each week; Navarro says the likes of Slash, Macy Gray and Rob Zombie have agreed to appear on the show.
“Rock Star” – Returning to TV3 later in the year.
