Countdown To Soccer World Cup On Maori Television
In the lead up to the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Maori Television brings a definitive guide to the one of the world’s largest sporting events with the premiere of GILLETTE WORLD CUP 2006 this Saturday March 11 at 5.00 PM.
Each of the 12 half-hour episodes provide the ultimate guide to the event to be held across the football stadiums of Germany. The programme also takes an indepth look at all 32 teams that have reached the finals – including 2002’s winning side from Brazil.
As the build-up to the opening match between Germany and Costa Rica on June 9 gathers pace, the contenders are beginning their final dress rehearsals for the tournament which will conclude with the grand final in Berlin on July 9.
The series discovers how the teams qualified and explores who will be their players, while attempting to predict just how far each country will progress.
Each episode features exclusive interviews with star players, the best football action, in-depth profiles of the teams taking part in the tournament and unique behind-the-scenes stories about the tournament venue.
