“Where a girl’s measurement of determination and desire should far surpass that of her hips”
International model turned actress Sara Standring (covers Vogue, Marie Claire, billboard in Times Square) brings a unique, solo comedy based on her 6 years on the international modeling circuit. Straight from the 2005 Toi Whakaari Go Solo season and extended through popular demand comes this 50 minute romp into a Tokyo model apartment, with girls from across all corners of the globe (Ireland, England, Russia, USA) trying to make it in this strange and unforgiving world. A world where many are curios to peer into.
Directed by Vanessa Byrnes previous Fringe winner this is set to be a solo that is not to be missed. With hilarious characters like “Vodka Tits” and “Americas next top supermodel“ we take a leap through the comedy of the fashion world but also delve into the pressures and complexities of this bizarre industry and why the models need feeding in one form or another.
All the characters are based on real people Standring meet along the way this is the honest look from a kiwi girl’s perspective. Something that the television won’t show or tell you. Get the inside view from someone who lived it and is here to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.
“Deserved standing ovation” Capital Times.
