Dunedin prepares for New Zealand's favourite fashion week
The models are booked, the stylists are ready, and Dunedin is abuzz and ready to show New Zealand what fashion is all about during the Vodafone id Dunedin Fashion Week from 7-11 March 2006.
The Vodafone id Dunedin Fashion Week is set to transform the city as New Zealand's leading "open to the public" fashion week.
The week features a host of exciting events, from downtown daily fashion shows at the Meridian Mall Fashion HQ, the id Fashion Opening, a New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Fashion Business Breakfast, the Dunedin Jewellery Breakfast Show, and the Vodafone id Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards on Friday 10 March.
The week concludes with the grand finale of the Vodafone id Dunedin Fashion Show on Saturday 11 March 2006.
The id Fashion Opening night on Tuesday 7 March is presented by Arthur Barnett and the Otago Daily Times, starting at 7pm at the Lion Foundation Arena, Edgar Sports Centre.
The show features local retailers and fashion labels including St Clair, Adventure Outfitters, Carlson and Kimberleys, with the return of the popular Bendon Roadshow.
The public can head downtown to Dunedin's Meridian Mall on George Street during the week to see daily fashion shows, make-up demonstrations, hair-styling and special guests.
Cleveland Living Arts present the city's best jewellers showcasing their exquisite works at the Dunedin Jewellery Breakfast on Friday 10 March, starting at 8am at the Otago Museum.
The OceanaGold National Jewellery Awards exhibition opens to the public from 10am on Friday 10 March at the Cleveland Living Arts Centre, Level 1, Dunedin Railway Station.
Media personalities John Campbell and Carol Hirschfeld are back by popular demand to host the Vodafone id Dunedin Fashion Show on Saturday 11 March at the Dunedin Railway Station.
"As main sponsors, id Dunedin has been such a special event for Vodafone as we support creativity in the community and also like to push the boundaries ourselves," said Vodafone Sponsorship Portfolio Manager Rachel Aikin.
Tickets for the Opening are available at Ticketek (booking fee applies), as well as any remaining tickets for the Awards and id Show.
