Trapezes and Physical Theatre are the performing tools in ‘The Life of Eileen,’ an inspiring and emotional solo show.
This is one woman’s remarkable true story of courage, hope, love and defeat.
Dawn Strindberg of Natural Wings Aerial Dance is the director, devisor, performer and grand daughter of Eileen. Dawn has studied full time for five years to gather the skills necessary for this performance. She has a theatre degree from Western Australia’s Academy of Performing Arts, and a Circus Arts Diploma, specialising in trapezes. She has combined her expertise’ in ‘The Life of Eileen’ and created a performance, both highly skilled and meaningful.
“I want to give justice to my grandmother’s life… In a way this is a tribute to her and all those before us who did it hard… And it’s a great story too! A lot of respect and emotions have gone into creating this performance and I hope the audience can feel that.”
Eileen’s life is portrayed honestly, including scenes in a mental institution, and her least ideal relationship with her husband. This is a story of a hard life, lived by a woman with a strong spirit, who always stopped to smell the roses.
A unique journey that will make you appreciate your own life.
An experience not to be missed!!
(Themes not suited for children, and strobe lighting is used)
