New September Date For Air New Zealand Fashion Week
Timing of premier fashion event moves forward to September date in 2006.
Air New Zealand Fashion Week will be held earlier in 2006 with the collections from New Zealand’s leading designers on show from September 19-22, 2006 at Auckland’s Viaduct Marine Harbour Village.
Managing Director Pieter Stewart has announced the move in dates as part of the strategic development around the future of the event.
Mrs Stewart sees the change in date as vital for the continued growth of the collections as an export driven platform for New Zealand fashion.
“Having canvassed a wide variety of international buyers, agents and media, as well as our designers, we have concluded the current timing of the event at the end of October is no longer conducive to maximising sales and profile in our target markets,” she says.
With most designers now selling prior to the October date, information indicates most opportunities for increased sales are during the last two weeks in September, not only in terms of attracting delegates from these markets but also to ensure the best window for buyers from Australia.
In 2006, the opening night will be Monday 18th September with the trade show running from Tuesday 19th to Friday 22nd September.
Registration dates will be made available shortly.
