Come and Sing Opera

Fancy yourself as a new Callas or Pavarotti? Bring your wonderful operatic voice and join with Orpheus Choir in a Come and Sing Opera day at the Ilott Concert Chamber, Wellington Town Hall on Saturday 18 February. Rehearsals go from 9.30-4pm with a break for lunch, and there's a one-hour concert at 6pm.
Favourite choruses like Habanera, Toreador Song, Brindisi, Slaves and Anvil Choruses etc will be performed, and up-and-coming soloists Allison Cormack, Megan Corby and Ben Makisi and Brendan Casey will sing well-loved arias. Michael Fulcher is conducting, with Louise Clark at the piano. Contact judyb@top.net.nz or phone 04 479 5384 to register. Workshop and concert fee $20 includes music.
Don't sing, but love hearing those favourite opera choruses? Come to the one-hour concert at the Ilott Concert Chamber at 6pm - audience tickets $10, school students $5. Pay at the door - doors open at 5.45pm
