“GAHU - a Pacific/African pollination of grooves and melodies - with stunning interludes on the talking drum, brilliant
guitar playing and just overall world class stuff. The band is so original and imaginative, and their arrangements so
intelligent and interesting that they are a real pleasure to hear. Do catch them if you get a chance.”

GAHU have an infectious passion for the music they call Afro-Kiwi fusion. It is a funky New Zealand sound which
encompasses Afrobeat, African juju music, traditional rhythms of Ghana, Kiwi jazz and funk.
Their new album 'Shell Money' was released in November 2005.
“Gahu stride between world music and jazz....with great energy, sociability and commitment, and their 'Hot Planet' album
of last year still commands my CD player.
The new album ‘Shell Money’ doesn't mess much with the likeable formula which brings various African guitar
styles (Hilife, Afrobeat ) to the fore...musically uplifting stuff ... I expect to be hauling this one out regularly
come summer.”
