Coke New Releases - Fresh Music from the fridge
Saturday January 21st 11am - 12pm
Desperate to showcase his tomato saucing skills (“there’s a golden ratio of sauce to steak”) Phil ‘eye-fillet flippin’’ Bostwick led the Coke New Releases BBQ this week, inviting a bevy of friends to join him at Pt Erin Pools as he grilled, swam and dived his way through the finest in new music videos.
Naturally keen to get his kit off, Phil aqua-jogged with the lads from Goodnight Nurse, sausage sizzled with the gorgeous Carly Binding, lounged with the Fast Crew’s Diablo and traded culinary tidbits with the dashing young and handsome Crazy Frog. On top of that, he served up the latest from My Chemical Romance, marinated the new Kanye West and burnt the hot new Robbie Williams.
Then just when he thought the meat pack had gone, Phil discovered unopen goodies from Ashlee Simpson, Dangerdoom and Damien Marley, not to mention a chilly-bin full of prizes upon which perched the sultry, stylishly wet Sony MHC-RG270, her FM reception there for everyone to see…
Top of the Pops Big Day Out Special
Saturday January 28th 5pm – 6pm TV2
TV Guide Best on the Box “Best Music Show”
Ever since Bede found out we were filming this week’s show at the Big Day Out, he’s been counting down the number of sleeps - and that was 6 weeks ago!!! In fact, he’s so excited we’ve re-named it the Bede Day Out.
We’ll be giving all of you who will be stuck at work/home/somewhere outside of Auckland the opportunity to see what the biggest concert of the year is really like!
Bede will be chatting to some of the biggest bands, talking to punters, eating hot dogs, getting pierced, sliding on the water slide and generally messing about. Plus, we’ll be playing awesome performances from some of this years’ international and kiwi Big Day Out acts.
And if all of that makes you feel so jealous you could spit, Bede has been kind enough to wrangle 5 copies of the Big Day Out album to give away…All you have to do is jump on the TVNZ website and check out his crazy reviews – there’s 5 My Chemical Romance CDs to give away too.
And last but not least, we still have those 3 double passes to the last gig of The Exponents’ nationwide tour at the Auckland Harbour Festival – they’ve got Goldenhorse and fireworks happening too, so it should be amazing!
P.S We were lying about him getting pierced.
Coke Countdown
Sunday January 22nd 10am - 12pm
There’s little more than jostling for position at the top of the charts this week as the Pussycat Dolls, Eminem and the Black Eyed Peas fight it out for the number one spot. Just behind them comes the battle-scarred 50 Cent and the big mover for the week, Chris Brown with ‘Run It’.
The Veronicas continue to hover in the top third of the table, while both Chong Nee and Big Day Out headliners, the White Stripes pick up big gains. Plus we’ve got the newie from Thirsty Merc, the latest from Nickelback and some great Kiwi clips from Evermore and Shapeshifter – not to mention your chance to win ‘Out of Time’ from the hard-rocking Bleeders.
