BOMFUNK MCs are coming to NZ, Yes the original Freestylers are hitting the shores of NZ appearing as the headline act for the students Orientation 06.
The Bomfunks who have recently been touring Europe have quickly become a phenomenon amongst audience across Europe. The band whose line up consists of 6 musicians, have been surprising audiences everywhere as they hit the stage with a new full blown Finnish pop/rock/rap/electro sound.
To coincide with the tour is the release of the 3rd album “Reverse Psychology” which includes the massive hit “Hypnotic” which has already topped European charts.
Front man Raymond Ebanks wearing a new beret and best dark glasses pronounces "the new album consists of funky breaks, hard steady beats, some fine pop melodies and absolutely brand new ways of rhymin". Raymond has pointed out that the group challenges itself to constant experimenting, aiming to come up with something never heard of before.
Best remembered for the massive worldwide hit “Freestyler” which the Bomfunk MC's can boast worldwide album sales in excess of 1 Million units and single sales well into 3 Million units.
The new Bomfunk sound is influenced by the new members: DJ/producer duo Skillsters and bassist Ville Mäkinen who have written and produced half of the material on "Reverse Psychology". Jaakko Salovaara aka JS16 remains the main producer. He co-wrote the biggest Bomfunk chartstormer "Freestyler", the best-selling single in Europe in year 2000.
