Skycity Welcomes In Chinese New Year, Year Of Dog

SKYCITY WELCOMES IN CHINESE NEW YEAR - YEAR OF THE DOG
Sky Tower will be lit up red and gold for the fifteen-day celebration that is Chinese New Year, with a number of on site promotions, events and a special acrobatic show to welcome in the Year of the Dog.
From 7pm - 8pm nightly from Chinese New Year's Eve (which this year falls on Saturday 28 January), there will be free entertainment in SKYCITY's atrium for the whole family, including cultural singing, traditional ceremonies, firecrackers, lion dancing and instrumental performances.
Ming Court, SKYCITY's authentic Chinese restaurant, will also offer special Chinese New Year menus and a promotion where all diners will receive a special fortune cookie with the chance of winning prizes including dining vouchers and hotel accommodation at SKYCITY Hotel.
In addition, there will be a special Chinese New Year Acrobatic Show on at SKYCITY Theatre from Friday 27th January featuring breathtaking displays from 22 of China's best performers, from the Yin Chuan and Hebei Acrobatic Troupes.
Event promoter Paul Young, says the acrobatic show will have wide appeal for both Asian and other audiences.
"The show is affordable for the whole family and truly incredible. As the show is musical and acrobatic, language is no barrier to enjoy the performances," he says.
