Elevation exhibition highlights Christchurch's heritage buildings
An exhibition by architectural illustrator Luciana Orr consisting of 25 original illustrations of Christchurch's beautiful heritage buildings, opens at Our City O-Tautahi next Monday, 12 December.
Select buildings of significant historic value have been illustrated in a contemporary style by Luciana Orr as a tribute to arts and heritage in Christchurch.
Titled Elevation, the exhibition will soon be published as a public resource and archival record in the form of a reproducible folio and CD.
"This project was designed to give something tangible to the community that they could copy and edit. I hope both professionals and students will get some good use out of this resource," she says. "The style of portrayal also documents the buildings for future generations."
Organisations can register their interest in receiving one of the first publications, free to schools, libraries and publicly funded organisations, through www.lucianaorr.co.nz
Our City O-Tautahi is a City Council operated community exhibition space in the council's historic original Municipal Chambers, on the corner of Oxford Terrace and Worcester Boulevard. Exhibitions are open 10am - 4pm, Monday to Saturday. All welcome.
