Vodafone Completes Record Label Arsenal
Vodafone NZ is now the only digital music provider in New Zealand to offer the four major record labels after the
signing of a global deal with Universal Music that brings full music tracks from artists like U2, 50 Cent, Eminem and
Black Eyed Peas to Vodafone mobiles.
Vodafone 3G customers in New Zealand will be offered unparalleled music products and services including full music
tracks, full length music videos and realtones directly to their mobile from the biggest labels in the music industry –
Universal Music, Sony BMG, Warner Music and EMI.
The signing will boost the catalogue of Vodafone live! MusicStore with 3G to more than 400,000 full music tracks over
the coming months. Apart from the international acts, local New Zealand artists in the new deal include Elemeno P, The
Bleeders, Savage, Dei Hamo and The Exponents.

chart* to see what the deal means for Vodafone customers.
“Vodafone customers can now get the latest, best selling tracks straight to their mobile. Nine out of last week’s Top 20
songs are from Universal Music artists and this partnership hugely enhances the scope of our music offering,” says
O’Donnell.
“Only on Vodafone can a music lover get their complete fix all in one place,” said O’Donnell. “We offer everything from
full music tracks to music videos, ringtones to music TV from every major label to suit all music tastes.”
Adam Holt, Managing Director of Universal Music in New Zealand, says that the label is very excited about the
opportunities this opens up for Vodafone and Universal Music to offer new entertainment services to customers.

U2, 50 Cent and Elemeno P and we can’t wait to introduce new entertainment opportunities for the consumer through their
Vodafone mobile,” says Adam.
This Christmas customers can choose from an extensive range of Vodafone 3G handsets that effectively offer a mobile
music player to deliver stereo quality sound. Devices such as the Nokia 6680 and Sony Ericsson V800 also now have a
pre-packaged 512 memory card included.
All full music tracks are $3.50 to download straight to your mobile. Customers can take advantage of a new full music
track bundle and download two for only $5.99. There is no limit to how many tracks customers can buy at this price. Once
downloaded, customers can listen to tracks again and again no matter where they are. Full length music videos cost $1.50
to stream, or $3 to download.
Customers new to Vodafone 3G receive a Vodafone live! 3G Starter pack that lasts for 30 days from activation. The
starter pack includes unlimited Mobile TV, unlimited music, sport and entertainment videos and three free full music
tracks.
