$9.4 Million Lotto Powerball Prize Won by Ticket from Manukau City, Auckland
A lucky player who bought a ticket at Manukau City Lotto in Auckland has won Powerball First Division in tonight’s draw, says New Zealand Lotteries Commission (NZ Lotteries) Chief Executive Trevor Hall.
The owner of the ticket will collect a total prize of $9,357,086 with $8,838,713 from winning Powerball First Division and $518,373 from also winning Lotto First Division.
"This is going to be a life-changing prize for the lucky winner. We are thrilled for this week’s big winner,” says Mr Hall.
“It’s the seventh biggest win on a single ticket in NZ Lotteries history.”
Mr Hall’s advice for the Powerball winner is to write their name and address on the ticket, confirming their ownership.
“They should then contact NZ Lotteries who can provide advice about the next steps to take,” he said.
One other Lotto ticket, sold at Pak N Save, Rotorua, also won Lotto First Division in tonight’s draw, winning $518,373.
“Lotto players in Manukau City and Rotorua should check their tickets, as these big prizes from the weekend are just waiting to be claimed, “ Mr Hall says.
On tonight’s live Lotto draw, Michelle Blampied from Mosgiel, near Dunedin, spun and won $1 million.
The winning Winning Wheel serial number from tonight’s draw was sold in Invercargill.
“It’s been one of the nights where prizes have been won throughout New Zealand – what a great night for all players,” said Mr Hall.
