New Sevens Website: Fans Hear it First
The new website for the AXA New Zealand International Sevens tournament, which goes live on Wednesday 9 November, will
get fans closer to the action than ever before.
By visiting www.sevens.co.nz, fans can:
- For the first time, save time purchasing tickets by pre-registering their details on the site (tickets go on sale on
22 November)
- Be the first to know about deals and accommodation availability
- Get up-to-date information on Wellington: what’s hot and what’s on
- Receive updates on the IRB Sevens tournaments
“This year’s Sevens fans will be the most informed ever, thanks to this new website,” says Steve Dunbar, Tournament CEO.
“We wanted them to have direct access to information, news and views. The new website’s best feature is the Sevens
eNews, a newsletter that will keep fans directly in the loop, from the pre-event excitement to the actual atmosphere of
the Sevens.”
The website will also feature a special locked section for the hundreds of tournament volunteers, as well as a link to
purchase official Sevens gear directly from the site.
The website will be updated regularly to provide the latest news about what’s hot with the Sevens and in Wellington.
“The Sevens always generates a lot of interest from Wellingtonians, New Zealanders, international visitors and media,”
says Tim Cossar, CEO of Positively Wellington Tourism. “During the 2005 tournament, the website reached a peak of 25,000
unique visits during February. With the improved site, we’re hoping to double interest.”
The new website was designed as part of a sponsorship agreement by Intergen, a Wellington company, in association with
Positively Wellington Tourism.
