CokeTunes Music Fund launches with $15K to fund local musicians
Round 1 of the CokeTunes Music Fund opened today at Cokefridge.co.nz
Coke have donated their profit of $15,000 from sales made through the CokeTunes online music store to the support of local music and musicians.
Applications are now being taken for the first round of funding, and must be submitted before December 1 to qualify for consideration.
This scheme lets artists apply for the funding to bring to life their own initiatives to help advance their career. The most deserving ideas demonstrating the most potential for success will win the funding.
Signed or unsigned, the CokeTunes Music Fund is available to all New Zealand based musicians. These grants can be used to fund initiatives as varied as assisting with the costs of equipment, recording, promotion, touring and training.
“The CokeTunes Music Fund means we can give something back to the local music community, and assist emerging talent from around New Zealand. We want bands to let us know what they need to put them on the map,” says Alison Sykora, Coca-Cola spokesperson.
A panel of music industry representatives will decide on and announce the final allocation of funds prior to December 7, 2005.
Instructions on how to apply for funding is now available at Cokefridge.co.nz.
