Hoon Hay community's free November Fiesta on 4 Nov, 3-7pm
Rowley Avenue School is the venue for this year's free Hoon Hay community celebration. The November Fiesta runs from 3-7pm on Friday 4 November, offering free fun for all.
This is the third year this popular event has been held. This year, there have been two changes -- the new name is November Fiesta and the new venue is Rowley Avenue School.
On stage will be local bands, hip hop dance, and performances by local cultural groups. If you feel up to some challenging fun, pull on a padded suit and try giant sumo wrestling or test your basketball moves against members of the Scenic Circle Canterbury Rams team. For children, the entertainment includes kite making, soap carving and flax weaving, bouncy castles and face painting. All events are free.
Food stalls offering a wide variety of cuisine will also help make the afternoon a satisfying experience.
The November Fiesta is organised by Christchurch City Council with funding from its Spreydon/Heathcote Community Board and in partnership with Rowley Avenue School and other community organisations.
If wet, the November Fiesta will be held on Saturday, 5 November from 3-7pm.
