Amplifier Newsletter #191 - 18 October 2005
Kia ora , The sun has come back to Auckland and its all smiles at Amplifier House. A big thanks goes out to the lovely people at Insidious Fix who looked after us good and proper last Saturday night as Kora, Recloose, dDUB and OpenSouls helped celebrate their 10th birthday at Auckland’s Studio.
It was the perfect warm-up to the looming long-weekend. A lack of funds means we’re stuck in Auckland, though with gigs from The Sneaks, OdESSA, the Bleeders, Farmer Pimp, Deja Voodoo, The Fanatics and Dawn of Azazel to get to we’re not complaining. Also if you’re in Auckland and don’t mind a bunch of sweaty funk DJ’s spinning records for a good cause then check out Giving Up Food for Fido on Sunday night.

John White John White is a singer/songwriter, originally from Dunedin, now living in our capital city, Wellington. His wonderful, affecting new album 'Balloon Adventure' is the first solo departure for White, from his band, the strangely under-rated Mestar & was recorded over just one day during the recording of a new Mestar album!
