Waipukurau to host world premiere!
Edgy Kiwi chiller Luella Miller will have its world premiere at the Civic Theatre in Waipukurau on Wednesday the 23rd of
November.
This film was shot locally and producer Robert Rowe wanted to bring it home for this event as a way of thanking the
local community for their support.
Stars Sara Wiseman and Philip Brown will attend the event along with Rowe and director Dane Giraud.
Rowe and Giraud have recently returned from Brisbane, where an unfinished copy of Luella Miller screened to an industry
only group as one of four finalists at the digiSPAA film festival competition.
The historic Oruawharo homestead in Takapau provided the main location for shooting as well as sleeping quarters for
cast and crew in the hot summer earlier this year.
Luella Miller tells the story of Lydia Anderson (Sara Wiseman), a generous yet lonely woman who opens her door to Luella
Miller (Sia Trokenheim), an enigmatic stranger. Before her stay is over both women will wish that door had remained
closed.
Arkles Entertainment will distribute Luella Miller throughout Australasia from early 2006. The film stars: Sara Wiseman
(Mercy Peak), Sia Trokenheim (Shortland Street), Philip Brown (The Last Samurai), Alistair Browning (Rain), Jacqueline
Nairn (Shortland Street), and Kevin J Wilson (Spooked).
