Barry White Tribute Concert In Wellington Tonight
Tonight for one night only Maori entertainer Ash Puriri (Ngati Kahungunu, Ngati Rongomaiwahine) will perform at the Opera House (Manners St, Wellington at 8 pm).
Ash is famous on Australia's Gold Coast cabaret and casino circuit for his Barry White tribute concerts. He also featured on Australia's "Star Struck" show in front of 12 million live viewers and performs regularly on board P's Pacific Sky cruises.
Tonight Ash will perform many Barry White favourites including "Can't Get Enough of Your Love" and "You're My First, My Last, My Everything". He will also sing Pavarotti's Nessun Dorma and Recondita Armonia and pay tribute to Billy T-James, Prince Tui Teka, Ricky May, John Rowles and Sir Howard Morrison with a special dedication to Inia Te Wiata and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.
Presented by Aotearoa Promotions Ltd, Ash's concert will be compered by Maori actor and entertainer, Pio Terei. His backing lineup includes renowned Maori guitarist Tuhi Timoti, music director John Huselko and band members Melcome Wood, Willie Qua, Ashley Lewis, Peter Blowes, Massimo Sportelli and Donna Rutter.
Tickets for the Wellington show are available from Ticketek www.ticketek com at the whanau rate of $55.00 (buy one get one free). Tomorrow night he will perform in Palmerston North before heading to Hamilton on Friday (7 October) and his final concert in Auckland on Saturday (8 October).
