Getting Up Close To Air New Zealand Fashion Week In 2005
Organisers create unprecedented opportunities for public access to New Zealand's premier fashion event.
Air New Zealand Fashion Week has been the hottest ticket in town every October since it began in 2001, and now those tickets are easier to access than ever before due to new innovations by the organisers.
While the trade show is the business side of fashion for designers, buyers and media, organisers want to recognise the public interest in the success and creativity of the designers.
In 2005, there will be additional "Best of.." shows with five catwalk celebrations planned for the official venue at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour Marine Village on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 October.
These shows will focus on in-season (spring/summer) garments from New Zealand's top designers showing at Fashion Week.
The "Best of.." shows are the ultimate opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of the event among the international buyers and media who will be here attending designer shows.
Buying a ticket to a "Best of" show allows you to enjoy an official Sapphire Siren or Finlandia Mangotini cocktail at the bar and check out the best of accessories and off-catwalk designers that show at the Fashion Week exhibition.
Two "Best of.." shows are on Thursday 20 October and three on Friday 21 October. Tickets are $45, or $35 for students, available through Ticketek. Tickets are selling fast and last year's shows sold out so get in quick if you don't want to miss out.
However if you can't get to the Viaduct, here are some other ways you can get a taste of Air New Zealand Fashion Week in 2005:
C4 nightly highlights Back by popular demand, C4 will be screening nightly half-hour highlights packages of Air New Zealand Fashion Week at 7.30pm each night, followed by a second show at 10.30pm with the day's other shows and all hosted by C4's presenters. For more information, tune in to C4 or visit www.c4tv.co.nz.
Catwalk Club Fashion Luncheon One of this year's top international VIP fashion guests will be our guest speaker at the Catwalk Club Fashion Luncheon, being held on Thursday 20 October at the Hilton, Auckland. Superb food and premium beverages, door prize and goodie bag are also included. Tickets are $130, all inclusive and subject to availability. Available from the Air New Zealand Fashion Week Office, contact Raquel on tel. 09 377 8033 or email: raquel@nzfashionweek.com.
Corporate Host packages A great way to entertain clients, colleagues or friends, Corporate Host has several fantastic hosting packages on offer. Each include seats at one of several great shows, lunch or dinner, a fantastic range of vintage wines, the Fashion Week "bible" as give to all delegates, and a chance to experience the glamour of Air New Zealand Fashion Week.
A unique and special opportunity to be part of one of the most spectacular shows of the week, a very limited number of packages include tickets to a major designer show.
These packages are strictly limited and selling fast, so get in quick or miss out. For more information contact Mike on tel. 09 623 8089 or email: mikem@corporatehost.co.nz.
The official Wrap Party brought to you by Stella Artois As the catwalks close on Friday 21 October, the Air New Zealand Fashion Week Wrap Party begins at nightspots 4:20 and Rising Sun. The only chance to share a night with the designers, models and VIPs from near and far, the party joins the two nightspots together for one very special night only, with the cordoning off of the surrounding street for your comfort.
Tickets are $30 plus booking fee and are available through www.ticketek.co.nz or text 'NZFW' to 858 on your Vodafone phone.
The official t-shirt from MAX MAX is celebrating the fifth year of Air New Zealand Fashion Week with the launch of a special signature t-shirt.
As a proud sponsor since 2002, the nationwide fashion stores had previously held an annual competition to create the official tee but in this special anniversary year, MAX wanted to put its own stamp on the event with a special edition piece.
Another collectors item, the t-shirt will be on sale in MAX stores nationwide from 18 October for $49.
The official cocktails - the Finlandia Vodka Mangotini and Bombay Sapphire Siren Join the fashionable set and sip away on one or both official Fashion Week cocktails specially created for the collections, the Finlandia Vodka Mangotini and the Bombay Sapphire Siren. Available at participating Auckland Viaduct bars during Air New Zealand Fashion Week or make one for yourself. See www.nzfashionweek.com for recipes.
The official radio station - George FM Once again the official radio station of ANZW, George FM will feature live feeds from the venue daily with round-ups from fashionistas on site!
