SMITH AND ALEXANDER ARE FAVOURITES THIS WEEKEND
Dan Smith and Bradley Alexander are the title favourites this weekend at the Hamilton Kart Club's annual Anniversary Meeting.
This weekend's meeting at the RV Wholesale Supplies track at Mystery Creek hosts the final rounds of two multi-round 2005 series, 125 National and Rotax Max Heavy.
Smith heads the 125 National series points standings after four rounds, with class 'King' Ryan Grant second - after winning at the fourth round in Taranaki) - and Shane Hodgson third.
Bradley Alexander leads the Rotax Max Heavy series points standings from Brent Humphrey with Arryn Hill and Alan Sherris tied for third.
This weekend's meeting is one of the largest regional meetings on the New Zealand KartSport calendar and has attracted entries from all over the North Island.
Both the 125 National and Rotax Max Heavy series will be decided on Saturday, as will Anniversary meeting accolades in the Cadet, Junior 100cc Yamaha, and Senior 100cc Yamaha Light and Heavy classes.
Sunday will see racing in the Junior 100cc Restricted, Junior National, Rotax Max Light, Formula 100, Intercontinental C and Open classes.
It is a busy time for KartSport in the upper North Island at the moment, with KartSport Auckland hosting the final round of the 2005 New Zealand Rotax Max Challenge next weekend and KartSport Hamilton preparing to host the North Island Sprint Kart Championship title meeting at the RV Wholesale Supples Raceway over Labour Weekend.
