NHNZ on the Global Search for Series Producers
Due to unprecedented growth in recent years, Dunedin-based production company NHNZ has put the international call out for experienced series producers and executive producers to join their ranks.
NHNZ is currently advertising in New Zealand, Australia and the United States for executive producers and series producers; the advertisements already drawing a strong response.
NHNZ Managing Director Michael Stedman says a combination of the company’s innovation and reputation has resulted in its growth and subsequent need to recruit people for the various new series that are going into production.
The company has over 70 hours of programming on the slate for the 2005/6 year, included in that are science, health, adventure and social documentaries as well as wildlife films.
“Over the years we have adapted to market demands and broadened our skills to suit many genres. Our core strength has always been in making wildlife films and we continue to be one of the world’s best in this genre.”
“This is a very exciting time for us and getting new talent on board is part of our evolutionary process. We need people who are as skilled, adaptable and global as we are. The company is developing young talent in New Zealand and Australia through research positions on our productions and initiatives like the post graduate diploma in natural history film making at Otago University – but our growth has meant we need to reach out for more senior people”, says Mr Stedman.
NHNZ is one of the world’s leading producers of factual programming embracing the genres of nature, health, science, adventure, and people. With over 70 programmes currently in production, its crews work in locations around the world to produce a diversity of films for international broadcasters including Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC, Discovery Health, National Geographic Channel, France 5, NHK in Japan and NDR in Germany. Based in Dunedin, New Zealand, the company is wholly owned by Fox Television Studios.
