‘Kiwi Trio to Promote ISDE to the World’
A team of 3 New Zealanders left last Wednesday to travel to the Slovakia International Six Day Enduro (ISDE) that starts
today Tuesday 13 September and ends Sunday the 18th of September.
The team is made up of Sean Clarke, Warwick Hall and Katie Street.
Sean Clarke, the ISDE 06 Event Director will be very busy because he is competing in the event and promoting the NZ
ISDE. When he has finished racing for the day, he will be talking to the gathering of international Enduro riders and
supporters about how the ISDE will be run in NZ and what sort of riding terrain to expect.
Warwick Hall, Marketing Executive of Destination Lake Taupo is going to promote the Lake Taupo region as a great place
to come for a sporting event and holiday destination. Warwick has a real ‘hands on’ approach to promoting Taupo which is
shown by his commitment to travelling to Slovakia to spread the word.
Katie Street, Sales Executive for the ISDE travel agent Venture travel, will be handling all the accommodation and
rental travel bookings needed for NZ. With 500 Taupo beds already booked, she will be talking to the tram managers about
the need to book accommodation early.
The Slovakia ISDE is an excellent opportunity to promote the NZ ISDE as it is hoped that most of the riders competing in
the 2005 event will make the journey to NZ 14-19 November 2006 to be a part of the Lake Taupo ISDE experience.
The promotional team will be making a presentation prior to the ISDE to team managers, riders and the press. Part of the
presentation will be the showing of a DVD full of great Lake Taupo NZ riding and adventure sport footage. During the
event the team will be making sure all the nations present are up to speed with all the NZ ISDE info.
The ISDE in Slovakia is the 80th ISDE to be run with the first official FIM approved ISDE held in 1913. Czechoslovakia
has won the World Trophy 14 times and is hoping for a strong showing on their home turf in 2005.
390 riders have entered the Slovakia event including 19 six man national trophy teams. Two all female teams have entered
the tough event, one from Finland and one from Sweden.
See www.isdeslovakia.sk for details of the 2005 event.
