PRESS RELEASE
WHAT: Calling all artists for a group exhibition
“(Oh Baby I…) Like it ROAR!”
WHERE: New Site!
ROAR! gallery, 55 Abel Smith Street, WELLINGTON
WHEN: Exhibition Preview-Wednesday 23rd November 2005
Duration of the exhibition: 23rd November – 24th December 2005
ROAR! gallery will be holding a celebratory group exhibition:
(Oh Baby I…) like it ROAR!
from 23rd November-24th December 2005
This group exhibition is to celebrate the opening of the new gallery space (moving from 22 Vivian Street to 55 Abel Smith Street, in October 2005) and is also an opportunity for both established emerging artists and new artists to exhibit at ROAR! gallery.
If you would like to be part of this Group Show, we are accepting up to 1-4 works per artist. Smaller works versus larger pieces. This exhibition will be run like our Little Mince Pies Exhibition; as a cash and carry affair (if they pay then they can take it away - on the same day). We have found that this adds interest to the exhibition as it will continually change and will not be a static display.
Please Note: You may find that not all of your artworks that you have submitted will be on display on opening night - this is because a) there is a lack of hanging space and b) we will be rotating the artworks once pieces are sold.
We are asking each artist to pay a fee of $25.00. This money helps us to cover the cost of setting up the exhibition - invites, catalogues, labelling and food and alcohol for the opening of the exhibtion. When you deliver your artworks to the gallery and pay your fee, each artist will be given 10 invites for the opening night.
So..................what do you have to do now? Request a copy of the participation package, available at the gallery, fill it out and START CREATING!!!!
Works to 55 Abel Smith Street by: 4pm on Friday 18th November.
If you have any questions about this exhibition, please contact Sheridan Rose at ROAR! gallery, (04) 385-7602 or roargallery@paradise.net.nz
