Can you ‘Handle the Jandal?
Radio Active Handle The Jandal Diy Nz Music Video Competition 2005
A record 85 entries from across Aotearoa are competing in this years “Golden Flip Flop” awards.
The entry deadline for the countries top DIY music video competition has CLOSED with entries coming from novice and professional filmmakers who are continuing to create innovative videos on a tight budget.
Project Manager Samantha Hayes says, “Handle the Jandal gives musicians and filmmakers a deadline to get their videos sorted with the satisfaction of seeing all those long days and late nights of hard work up on the big screen.”
The fifteen finalists will be named on September 1st and they will battle it out screen-style at the Embassy Theatre on Weds 21st September 2005.
The finalist are competing for top honours across six Golden Flip Flop categories:
Best Editing
- Best use of exploitative tactics to promote the band
- Best Cinematography
- Best Concept
- Best Animation
- and Rising Star
Unique to Handle the Jandal is the Audience Vote on the night. This will nail the seventh Golden Flip Flop category:
- Favourite Handle the Jandal Video winner
- and two runner ups.
Radio Active 89FM launched its visionary, independent music video awards seven years ago, providing a launching pad for aspiring filmmakers while actively promoting Aotearoa music.
