Published: Fri 15 Jul 2005 04:08 PM
RECLOOSE vs. MATTERHORN vs. LOOP
Wellington's best loved restaurant, cocktail bar and late night haunt is kicking off it's annual birthday ho-down with a sonic evening of sound courtesy of Recloose.
On Sunday July 31, Matterhorn and LOOP Recordings Aot(ear)oa are proud to present the premier of Recloose's live band - perfectly in sync with the release of his second album 'Hiatus On The Horizon' which hits stores on July 25.
The Detroit born DJ and Producer will be lighting a torch to the masses's asses with a host of Wellington's usual musical suspects including Rikki Gooch, Deva Mahal, Dallas Tamaira and Isaac Aesili.
Recloose has been dropping dust in our ears at the Matterhorn's 'The Lean' every Friday night for the past four years, and the birthday ho-down will be a chance to experience a fired up Recloose and his crew giving the people what they really want - a chance to shake what ya momma gave ya!
E-mail The Matterhorn at info@matterhorn.co.nz to get in the mix for Matterhorn's exclusive birthday bash & 'Hiatus On The Horizon' album taste party on 31 July featuring Recloose and his live band - limited to 250 people

Fly My Pretties 2
LOOP Recordings Aot(ear)oa are pleased to confirm that the rumours are true…
Building on the tremendous success of last year's collaborative event, Fly My Pretties is returning with a new line-up, and a new flock of tunes to set you free.
Recently, Fly My Pretties was nominated for 6 B-net nominations (receiving Best Pop Album), achieved gold-status, and is being released in the UK. In another exciting development, a new Fly My Pretties incarnation recently performed a four-show season at The Leigh Sawmill Café to full houses.
In Fly My Pretties 2, Barnaby Weir will once again take the stage with a new who's who of local kiwi talent (a secret being kept close to LOOP's hearts for nowŠ) to perform, record, and film a season of live performances, which will then be released on album.
Building on last year's efforts, Fly My Pretties 2 is going to be performed in both Wellington and Auckland in late September.
Tickets to the shows will be available from Real Groovy as of July 14th. The dates are:
Paramount Theatre - Wellington
Thursday 15th September
Friday 16th September
Saturday 17th September (2 shows)
Hopetoun Venue - Auckland

THE VIDEO KID
MUSIC VIDEO - CCTV
'SECURITY - YOU DON'T BOTHER ME…
In the age of surveillance, it's reassuring to see that one person hasn't lost their sense of humour. Directed by UK based New Zealand filmmaker Andrew Johnson, and shot on the grey streets of London and Berlin, this is the latest video from The Video Kid's album Prototype. CCTV sees our hero Bret McKenzie putting on a hilarious cabaret for the cameras in our daily lives. Sporting his trademark tracksuits, and 'stunning' dance repertoire, CCTV is classic.
In other Video Kid news, the tune 'Video Kid' has recently featured on the latest Back To Mine compilation by the Pet Shop Boys, and being distributed worldwide.
His album Prototype is in store now!!
