Sponsorship coup for local magazine
Fine wine, great food and the superb music of Pavarotti. It’s the perfect mix for a magazine that caters to lifestylers, so it’s no surprise that The Foodtown Magazine has snapped up the presenting sponsor status of Pavarotti’s farewell tour.
The great tenor returns to New Zealand in November for a one-off performance as part of his farewell to fans and music lovers around the world.
According to Tim Connell, publisher of The Foodtown Magazine, the alignment is something of a sponsorship coup for the four-year-old publication.
“There is an easy association between the world’s most popular classical artist and The Foodtown Magazine.
“Food, wine and music feed the soul and keep us entertained. Our magazine showcases delicious, simply-made food with great ideas and practical information for Kiwis who take time out to enjoy the good things in life.”
Mr Connell says the show is destined to be a musical event of a lifetime.
“The Foodtown Magazine is proud and excited to support what will undoubtedly be a sell-out concert.
“This is the artist who has sold more than 100 million recordings and whose audiences have numbered up to half a million at one time in a career spanning 40 years. Pavarotti is a household name whose impact on the world of music is unsurpassed.
“As presenting sponsor, The Foodtown Magazine and our partners Foodtown and Woolworths supermarkets look forward to announcing exciting opportunities for our readers and shoppers to join us in some ‘money can’t buy’ experiences of a lifetime,” he says.
Supported by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Pavarotti is performing at the North Harbour Stadium at Albany on Auckland’s North Shore on November 12.
For operatic and classical music fans in New Zealand, this is the concert of a lifetime and results from many months of negotiations. The concert gives Kiwi fans a final opportunity to say arriverdeci to one of the greatest tenors the world has seen, Mr Connell says.
