New Zealand Music Raises Much Needed Funds For Breast Cancer Research
The Triumph CD compilation has raised almost $40,000 for The Breast Cancer Research Trust.
The Triumph CD features top New Zealand artists such as Brooke Fraser, Scribe, Bic Runga and Goldenhorse who have all donated a percentage of their royalties to the cause.
Breast Cancer is a major threat to the women of Aotearoa. 1 in 10 New Zealand women will get breast cancer in their lifetime, it is an epidemic in this country.
Chair of The Breast Cancer Research Trust Mimi Lloyd states ³We are thrilled with the support we have been given by the musicians who have backed the cause and given so generously.²
The money raised by the Triumph CD will go towards funding the next researcher who will join The Breast Cancer Research Trust's centre of world-class breast cancer research.
General manager of SonyBMG, Micheal Bradshaw is delighted with the success of this compilation and thanks the New Zealand public for getting behind New Zealand music and this great cause.
