New President for New Zealand Kennel Club
Mrs Lesley Chalmers was elected the new president of the New Zealand Kennel Club at the Annual Conference of Delegates held in Wellington last weekend. Mrs Chalmers succeeds outgoing President, Ray Greer who held the position for five years.
Mrs Chalmers has been involved with the Kennel Club for more than 30 years. She has experience as a breeder, exhibitor, judge and NZKC Executive Councillor. Mrs Chalmers, from Christchurch breeds Welsh Corgies. She is the third NZKC President to come from the Corgi breed.
The New Zealand Kennel Club is a political advocate representing almost 5,000 breeders and 320 local dog clubs throughout the country. The NZKC has approximately 9,000 members nationwide.
