Triangle Television adds Dutch, Flemish news to international line-up
Anyone with links to or an interest in The Netherlands or Belgium can now tune in to Triangle Television on weekdays to get the latest news both in Dutch and Flemish.
Starting from Monday, June 20, Triangle TV screens Flemish and Dutch news to its weekday line-up of foreign language news services, which screen from 11am to 3.30pm.
From Monday to Friday, VRT Joernaal, in Flemish, will screen at 1.10pm and NOS Joernaal, in Dutch, will screen at 2.30pm.
Triangle Television has secured the re-broadcasting rights for the Flemish and Dutch news with generous support from the Belgian and Dutch communities, the New Zealand Netherlands Society 'Oranje' Auckland Inc, and Ascot Parnell, a bed and breakfast and hotel/inn based in Parnell, Auckland which is owned and operated by a Belgian couple, Bart and Therese Blommaert.
The full daily line-up of news programmes on Triangle Television is:
11.00am RTP Telejornal, in Portuguese
11.30am RAI Qui Roma / Telegiornale, in Italian

These additions to Triangle's news programmes are in line with one of the television station's vision - to provide programming not screened on mainstream television for Auckland's diverse communities.
Triangle Television is Auckland's only regional, non-commercial television station and has operated as a public broadcaster to Greater Auckland since August 1, 1998. The channel screens a mix of regional-access television with international news and information programmes. Triangle, which is non-profit making, broadcasts 24 hours daily from UHF channel 41 and, in Remuera and surrounding suburbs, from UHF channel 52.
