Big Movies For TVNZ
Harry Potter, Superman, Scooby-Doo are just a few of the favourites that TVNZ Licensing has recently won the right to
license across New Zealand.
TVNZ Licensing, a successful enterprise business unit within TVNZ, is responsible for securing additional value from its
programming content, archive and brand activity. It currently represents popular TV series such as The Zoo and Lion Man
in the home video market, a range of cartoon characters such as Spongebob Squarepants, and Clifford the dog, in addition
to providing consumer interactivity around its NZ Idol, Dancing with the Stars and Test the Nation programmes.
Brand and Interactive Licensing Manager, Mark Lloyd, is pleased to have recently joined the team at such an exciting
time. "Internationally Warner Bros properties are such strong brands so it's great to have this opportunity to represent
them in this market and at the same time be able to deliver some strong programme extensions to our core broadcasting
business"
Louise Coburn, Brand and Interactive Business Development Manager says "We are thrilled to be representing Warner Bros.
Consumer Products and are excited to have the opportunity to represent some wonderful films and timeless characters. We
will be paying close attention to how they are placed in the market and how they will best be executed".
Future opportunities from the Warner Bros portfolio include Wonder Woman - the movie now being scripted, and merchandise
from the Superman Returns movie, now being filmed in Sydney.
"TVNZ are able to provide much needed FTA (Free to Air) exposure of our key licensing brands in New Zealand", says Helen
Thompson, General Manager of Warner Bros Consumer Products. "We are extremely pleased to have them on board to help
build our popular brands in this important territory".
