Key game for the men this weekend will be between Selwyn and University who take up second and third slot on the points
table.
Selwyn with player/coach Hadyn Shaw had a surprise win over HSOB/Burnside last week to put them in second place. Daniel
Tairoa , returning after a two year break, has been performing outstandingly for Selwyn and looks as though he had never
been away. Peter Stafford has been the main goal scorer for University and he will need to maintain this effort to
overcome the improving Selwyn team.
HSOB/Burnside will be pleased to have Shea McAleese back from a stint playing in Tasmania to strengthen their team when
they play Avon.
The women’s competition provides a top of the table clash between HSOB/Burnside and Hornby. Both teams had to work for
their wins last weekend and will have to lift their work rate if they want to take competition points. Tambra McGarvey
for Burnside and Anna Burns for Hornby have both been consistently rattling the back boards and their team mates will be
depending on them to rise to the occasion again this weekend.
Selwyn and Carlton/Redcliffs is another key game as a win by either team will keep them in touch with competition
leaders.
