THE AUCKLAND FESTIVAL BATTLEGROUND:
Former Auckland Festival director Simon Prast has decided to speak out about the behind-the-scenes battles in the lead-up to AK05. And this week, the festival board presented its interim financial report to the Auckland City Council. Jeremy Hansen and Julie Hill investigate.
THE FUNNY SIDE OF WAR:
Carol Burnett said “Comedy = Tragedy + Time”, and this has never been more apt than for war. Comedian Te Radar, who has filmed comic explorations of strife-torn areas East Timor and Israel-Palestine, takes Oliver Driver through a history of wartime entertainers, war-based sitcoms and the general need to look on the bright side of life.
