Internationally acclaimed funny man JIMEOIN is set to host the ‘A List’ comedy event of the year
The ODDFELLOWS NZ International Comedy Festival is delighted to announce Jimeoin as the ODDFELLOWS Comedy Gala Host. Following in the footsteps of previous international comedy greats, Jimeoin will bring his flair, talent and hilarious humour to our shores this Festival. His mission: to wrangle the exceptional range of comedians showcased in this years gala.
Jimeoin is a heavyweight in the international comedy scene - he's performed in Europe, the UK, Middle East, Canada and extensively throughout Australia. At the 1994 Edinburgh Festival he was the winner of the prestigious CRITICS AWARD. He has a raft of credits in live performance, film and television (Rove, Full Frontal, and his own self-titled show Jimeoin). His new film THE EXTRA will be in cinemas April 21. Going on the overwhelming box office success of his last film THE CRAIC - this film is sure to be a hit.
Australia’s funniest Irishman will be joined by a star-studded cast in THE glamour event of comedy, which launches 3 weeks of Festival madness.
The ODDFELLOWS Comedy Gala is a fast-paced 2-hour comedy extravaganza that presents the most humourous, slick and unpredictable local and international stars the Festival has to offer. Filmed live for TV this showcase has a reputation that expects the unexpected. Anything can happen… and with Jimeoin at the helm … it will definitely be a night to remember.
This years line-up is impressive and includes performances from big international comedy stars including Stewart Lee (UK), Jeff Green (Eng), Gamarjobat (Jap), Kitty Flanagan (Aus/Eng), The Umbilical Brothers(Aus) and Danny Bhoy(Scot). Accompanied by the crème of local kiwi talent including Dai Henwood, Te Radar, Michele A’Court this is the must see event of the Festival. More to be announced in the coming weeks!
