“Rubbish” Film Fest goes live
Six unique films went to air on Sunday night on TV1, 2, 3, 4, Prime and Sky TV. The films are part of an innovative new
concept, ‘The Rubbish Film Fest’ which promotes Telecom’s latest video messaging technology.
The films have been created by local film school students from AUT and Axis Advertising School in response to a brief to
come up with 30 second movies that represent spontaneously funny moments in people’s lives.
“Telecom has recently launched its T3G network. This project further brings to life Video Messaging and the ability to
shoot and send video instantly using our latest video capable handsets,” says Communications Manager Kellie Nathan.
“Customers now have a portable video camera in their mobile that allows them the freedom to shoot really creative stuff
wherever they are within the 027 coverage area and share it with another video capable Telecom mobile or anyone on
email,” she says.
Film Student winners Carlos Savage & friends, Penny D’anvers & friends and Kara Day & friends received instant fame with the fruits of their labour airing on mainstream television as well as a prize of a
T3G capable Sanyo 7400 phone each from Telecom.
All 027 customers with a video capable mobile will have their chance to take part in the Rubbish Film Festival when a
competition goes live on http://www.rff.co.nz from 10 April until 22 May 2005. Video messages cost $1 each.
Customers can shoot their own 20 second movies and up-load them to the site to go in the draw to win a trip to Hollywood
