ignite05 festival – simply the best
The third ignite festival, ignite05 – new voices_new pathways kicks off on Tuesday 5 April @ THE EDGE with an exciting and innovative performance programme of national and international works.
Highlights include:
Something Dark – a tale of one’s man journey to find his family and connect with his past. Described by The Guardian as “hugely enjoyable, inventive, funny & touching”
Battalion : Ka Wha Whai Tonu Matou Ake!, Ake!, Ake! Jim Moriarty’s new play devised especially for ignite05
Dead Man Talking – nominated Best New Play of 2004, Jeremy Baumung’s solo performance is about nearly losing it all, and then finding it somewhere deep within
A House Across Oceans – back by popular demand, this is an off-the-wall take on growing up in Auckland celebrating cultural diversity, families and sense of place and belonging
C – a rap opera with attitude – directed by the creative team of Anna Marbrook, John Gibson and John Rosser
Flip the Script – a playwrighting slam or the NZ Idol of script writing. A partnership with Playmarket and Contact Theatre (UK). 20 young writers, 4 young actors, 2 experienced directors and 2 MC’s all thrown together
