InFocus Announces New High-Definition Home Theatre Projector
InFocus ScreenPlay 7210 boasts the latest technology available for home theatre
NEW ZEALAND - March 31, 2005 - From the number-one brand name in consumer projection comes a new projector that delivers amazing technical advances for home theatre owners who value and appreciate the best the industry has to offer. InFocus® Corporation (NASDAQ:INFS), the worldwide leader in digital projection technology and services, today announced the InFocus ScreenPlay® 7210, the newest home theatre projector that leverages the latest home theatre technology to bring high-definition excellence to the custom installation market and discerning videophiles.
For a home theatre experience that guarantees goose bumps and the thrill of being a part of the action, the InFocus ScreenPlay 7210 provides increased, crisp 2800:1 contrast and improved black levels for enriched colour saturation and excellent native 720p high-definition video performance. Built from the best-selling 720p ScreenPlay legacy, the ScreenPlay 7210 combines the new DarkChip3 DLP(tm) technology from Texas Instruments® and the Faroudja DCDi 2310 deinterlacer with award-winning InFocus engineering to create and display amazing image clarity.
"Developed from the legacy of our most popular home theatre projector, the InFocus ScreenPlay 7210 offers the very latest technology from InFocus," said Lee Whincup, InFocus Country Manager, Australia and New Zealand. "The InFocus ScreenPlay 7210 is a powerhouse projector that enables stellar HD images and is the ideal choice for the enthusiast who has done their homework."
To ensure deep, saturated colours and rich blacks, the InFocus ScreenPlay 7210 comes with an all-glass, Carl Zeiss 1.3x zoom lens with a 35mm filter thread to customise the light output without sacrificing colour richness or sharp contrast. For even more flexibility, a 72mm filter thread and optional neutral density filter ensure a perfect image with smaller screen sizes and maintain black levels optimised in any room lighting.
Displaying pop-off-the-screen colour against true blacks and a detailed grayscale, the InFocus ScreenPlay 7210 boasts 1400 video-optimised lumens and dramatic SMPTE (cinematic standard) brightness on up to 11-foot wide screens. Exclusive to InFocus ScreenPlay the new projector also offers FLI2310(tm) DCDI the latest generation of Academy® Award winning technology from Faroudja, which eliminates video image stuttering, scan lines and artifacts to produce the most perfect, highest-quality images.
Like other InFocus ScreenPlay projectors, the ScreenPlay 7210 was designed to be user-friendly with a simple keypad and backlit home theatre remote to allow for ease of installation and more time to enjoy the movie or big game with life-size images. Eight user-selectable video sources allow for impressive connectivity to a full range of devices, including VCRs, DVDs, component and RGB HDTV, EDTV, standard TV and computers. The InFocus ScreenPlay 7210 also has a 12-volt screen trigger, which will automatically raise and lower an electronic screen when the projector is powered on/off.
Availability
The InFocus ScreenPlay 7210 is available at a recommended retail price of $11,999. InFocus ScreenPlay products are distributed in New Zealand through International Dynamics. For more information please visit call 0508 SCREENPLAY or visit www.infocus-screenplay.co.nz
