Whakaoho Papanui - it's time to wake up!
Papanui Domain will host a huge community celebration of local talent on Sunday 3 April 2005, from 11am to 3pm.
The aim of 'Whakaoho Papanui 2005' is to celebrate the huge strengths and positivity of living in Papanui, showcasing the area's talents, and celebrating it's diversity. Local bands and dance groups will be performing live, including Te Pihi Ora, Common Ground, Zion, Riot Police, Soul 7, the Papanui Paraders marching team, and Papanui Primary School. Sista Waitoa will MC the event and perform some of her latest music. Sports activities and children's games will all be provided, many of them for FREE, and there'll be lots of food to suit every taste on sale too.
Whakaoho Papanui has something for everyone, so get down to Papanui Domain with the whole family/whanau and enjoy the whole afternoon!
Whakaoho Papanui 2005 is being organised by local community groups in conjunction with Christchurch City Council's Community and Recreation team, and is funded by Shirley/Papanui Community Board and the Lion Foundation.
