Bikram Yoga Wellington studio now open.
Our Wellington studio opened 1 January 2005. Located in the Top of Tory retail centre (above BACK TO BED), 133 139 Tory Street.
Bikram yoga is a series of 26 hatha yoga postures and two breathing exercises practiced in a heated room.
Bikram’s HOT yoga systematically works every muscle, joint, organ and system of the body, combining all the elements of strength and flexibility into a very challenging and rewarding sequence.
It’s a ‘HOT’ yoga program that’s been in the USA for 30 years and is now expanding globally at a rapid rate. New Zealand’s first two Bikram studios opened in Mt Maunganui in June 2003, and Newmarket, Auckland in Easter 2004.
All classes are open to beginners; however the yoga challenges everyone. The physical style of this yoga is breaking down the gender barriers, attracting just as many men as women who see and feel an almost immediate improvement in bodily functions and muscle tone.
