95bFM and THE EDGE® are proud to present the AK05 Festival Club at The Civic, THE EDGE®. Following on from the success of AK03, this promises to be an exciting and vibrant addition to Auckland’s inner city nightlife during the 17 nights of AK05.
Early evenings at the Festival Club will showcase Auckland’s finest comedy cabaret artists in the luxuriant environs of the Auckland icon – The Civic.
And from 9.00pm every night, join us for the Free Late Night Lounge, featuring a varied selection of the hottest musical artists in NZ at the moment.
The Festival Club is the official after-show venue for the AK05 stars and cast, and promises something for everyone.

A third instalment in the adventures of Toot & Collins – the underlectual brilliantaries at the centre of such cult hits as Happy Hour for Miserable Children (Best Comedy, Fringe NZ Festival 2004) and The Magic Chicken (Best Comedy... ever) You’ll truncate at the knees after sampling the multi-horrifying, miraculous absurdities presented in this sideshow of vaudevillian impersonation. Gasp at the bearded lady! Marvel at the Strong Man’s calves! Shout at whomever you want! Featuring live music from members of The Hot Grits and a cast of freaks, Join Us At Ricks’ is a clap-your-hands-a-rama ride through a music hall amusement park on strong hallucinogens.

Cabaret divas, Helen Medlyn and Penny Dodd weave their own special magic on the American Songbook. Sashaying through an early evening set of ballads, blues and bebop, these two dames – cups running over with their usual style and sophistication – will soon have you purring like a pussycat!! hellcats... the devilish Miss D on piano and the divine Miss M on vocals…. also featuring the Festival Club Band.

Open every night during AK05, the Festival Club Late Night Lounge offers something for everyone. Early in the week check out the resident Club Band (featuring Vanessa McGowan, Neil Watson, Kevin Field, Rota Barrington, Caitlin Smith, Matiu Sadd, Lewis McCallum, Paul Taylor & other special guests). Thursdays through Saturdays come get amongst with Aotearoa’s finest dub, roots, reggae, ska and electronica. Come on down to the official after-show venue, from 9.00pm until late the Wintergarden will be the home of Auckland’s hottest live music during the 17 nights of AK05.
