Lotto Players Have An Extra Chance To Win Big On Wednesday
Lotto players will have another chance to win big before Christmas, with the second of two mid-week draws being held at
8pm, Wednesday 22 December, New Zealand Lotteries Commission Deputy Chief Executive Warren Salisbury said today.
Spicing up this mid-week draw is the estimated $7.5 million Lotto Powerball jackpot up for grabs.
"Imagine what sort of Christmas you will have if you find that kind of money in your stocking this year," he says.
Wednesday's draw will follow exactly the same format as a normal Saturday Lotto draw. It will be screened live on TV2 at
8.00pm, with numbers for Lotto Strike, Lotto and Lotto Powerball all being drawn.
There will also be a winning Winning Wheel serial number announced and one lucky player will be live on the draw to spin
and win on Winning Wheel.
This Wednesday's Winning Wheel spinner is Paddy Brogan from Morrinsville. Last Saturday, Rodney Gillum from New Plymouth
won $250,000.
As an added bonus, players who buy Triple Dip tickets for Wednesday's draw will also get a voucher for Lotto's biggest
Christmas promotion ever where 55 prizes with a total value of more than $2.5 million will be announced on Christmas
Day.
Mr Salisbury says Wednesday's mid-week draw, followed by a Christmas Day draw on Saturday, adds an exciting element to
the festive season for Lotto players.
"We know how much our players enjoy Lotto, and how exciting it would be to win a substantial prize at Christmas time, so
we've responded by giving everyone more chances to play and win this festive season.
"We had a positive response from players to last Wednesday's draw and are sure most of them will be looking forward to
having another chance to win big this Wednesday," says Mr Salisbury.
