Playmarket and Auckland City Council are inviting applications from Maori and Pacific Island playwrights, directors and
producers to present 15-25 minute presentations of theatre work in progress as part of the Pasifika Playwrights
Development Forum at TAPAC, Motions Road, Western Springs, Auckland on Friday March 11 2005.
Please make your application to Mark Amery at this email address by January 31. Your application should be in writing.
Please note that presentation spaces are limited to six.
This is a valuable development opportunity for you to work towards - presenting an excerpt of your work and presenting
your plans for a small audience in a friendly, supportive professional studio environment. This provides an opportunity
to try out material in front of your contemporaries and share work, as well as have a deadline to work towards in
developing your ideas further.
You are also invited to attend this important afternoon gathering for Maori and Pacific Island professional theatre
practitioners
This forum will occur on Friday afternoon March 11, 2-5 pm (the day before Pasifika and our four selected works to have
readings and workshops on that day).
On Saturday March 12 we will be presenting in the TAPAC Theatre four plays in development: Taku Kiri by Vicki Anne
Heikell (reading), His Mother's Son by Leilani Unasa (reading), Angels by Tanya Muagututi'a (workshop presentation) and
Lost Again by Miria George (workshop presentation).
We are not able to fund expenses or casts, but may have by arrangement a small pool of Pakeha and Maori actors available
through UNITEC for those from outside Auckland or without producers or casts.
